Carpet and Vinyl

Overview

Carpet is always a good flooring choice as it's relatively inexpensive, comfortable, much quieter than any other floor options and generally easier to install and replace. It also offers more fashion options in colors and textures than any other floor covering option on the market.

We carry numbers of carpets and rygs of different styles and fiber types. There are 5 basic styles of carpet. Understand characteristics as well as performance capabilities of each of them in order to make your smart buying decision:

Textured / plush

Hardwood

  • Cut pile carpet that has alternating twists of yarn creates a two - tone appearance.
  • Creates more casual atmosphere in the room.
  • Hides footprints and vacuum marks.
  • Great for all areas in the home, ideal for active families and are available in a broad range of colors and prices.
Saxony

Looped

  • Big bulky yarns that are either produced in a level loop or multi-level loop carpet construction.
  • Often referred to as a berber and is is a great all-purpose carpet
  • Long lasting and very durable as yarn tips are not cut and ideal for casual, active family rooms
  • Come in solid colors, berber fleck and patterns with varying levels of loops.
  • This carpet hides traffic patterns well but be advised that this style may make seams more apparent and it’s backing is more visible on stairs.
Cut and Loop

wood Flooring

  • Combination of cut and looped yarns that crate pattern effects by the variation in surface textures.
  • Referred to as patterned carpet and low profile and thus perform well
  • Used in casual and traditional rooms and are available in many patterns including fun geometrics and formal botanicals.
  • Their distinctive carved appearance and multiple colors do a good job of hiding stains and standing up to traffic.

Carpet padding plays an important role in preserving the look and feel of your carpet as it prevents your carpet from matting and crushing underfoot. It also adds its own level of soil and stain protection providing ventilation between the carpet and the floor.

Vinyl

Overview

Resilient/vinyl floors are elastic flooring that gives you cushiony feeling when you walk across them. Because of its good looks, resistance to moisture and wide variety of colors and textures is used more and more in various home areas.

They stay looking like new longer, are easy to maintain, resist staining and are easy to clean. Their main enemy is grit or sand that can be ground into the surface.

Vinyl flooring can now realistically mimic the look and textures of real resilient, stone and wood grain patterns. There are two types of vinyl flooring: sheet vinyl and vinyl composition tiles (VCT).
